PERMA-HAND™ Black Braided Silk Suture is a nonabsorbable, sterile surgical suture composed of a natural organic protein derived from the silk of the Bombyx mori species. The raw silk fibers are processed to remove natural waxes and gums, resulting in a refined suture material suitable for clinical use. Its composition provides the strength and flexibility needed for reliable tissue approximation.

The suture is coated with a proprietary wax mixture that enhances handling and improves knot security. This coating minimizes fraying during use and supports smooth passage through tissue while maintaining consistent knot performance. The braided structure of the silk further contributes to pliability and ease of manipulation during suturing procedures.

Attached to the suture is a 17 mm RB-1 taper point needle with a 1/2 circle curvature. This configuration is designed for soft tissue penetration with minimal trauma. The needle's taper point design allows for precise and controlled passage through delicate tissue layers. The 30-inch suture length provides sufficient reach for deeper closures and multi-layer approximations.
